There are many different schools of thought on how to use social spaces to market your business. This post is mainly directed to entrepreneurs, MLM, direct sales, real estate agents, etc… First of all, you do NOT need a business page if your business is just you. If your business is large enough to need a physical location and/or employees, you should have a business page. Otherwise, it’s not necessary at this point.

I have many network marketers who are on my facebook friend’s list. The mistakes I will discuss here are not exclusive to facebook, however, most people reading this are familiar with facebook so I will use that social space as the example.

Some so-called “gurus” are teaching people that they need to constantly pitch their business on facebook. This is the biggest LIE that was ever told!! It’s Monday again.  I get to see all of my facebook and twitter friends complain (starting Sunday nights) that today is Monday and they have to go back to work.  I can’t imagine going to a job anymore.  I have been blessed to work from home while my husband has needed me due to health issues.   I’ve been blessed to work from home while my children were growing up so I could homeschool them and be here for them when they needed me.  I’ve been blessed to be able to sleep until I wake up on Monday mornings (and every other morning for that matter).

Don’t get me wrong…it has NOT always been easy and my family has struggles just like any other family.  Working from home is NOT an answer for all of your problems.  It is not right for everyone either.  It is, however, a great way for you to alleviate some of the financial burden and a way to control your own future.

Many companies are even finding that they get more productivity in less time when they allow their employees to telecommute.  Why?  Because when you are paid based on productivity instead of hours you go to a physical building,, you tend to get more done in less time.

Let me answer that question with a question.

Who is the best person to teach you that…someone who has been doing it for the past 12 years or someone who has never done it?

I’ve been successfully staying home with my family for the past 12 years.  I always make enough to take care of us when my husband has been out of work due to medical issues.  That’s been a lot.  Since 2005 he has had 3 hernia repair surgeries, a broken thumb, and a brain hemorrhage.  Am I a millionaire?  NO.  Do I pretend I can show you how to be a millionaire?  NO.

Why are there so many scams out there?  Because those of you who fall for them are too embarrassed that you fell for them to turn them in.  Turning them in would be admitting that you fell for the scam.

I get so upset with myself sometimes because I have absolutely NO sense of style and NO sense of how to decorate. We’ve moved into this nice house and I want it to look nice. I have been cleaning every day. Sweeping and mopping floors and keeping the dishes done up on a daily basis. That’s a big step for me. In the past I would do a once a week cleaning and that was a PAIN. It’s not easy balancing working from home and keeping house and kids and husband and etc… But… Now, I’m realizing if I do it daily, it only takes a short amount of time out of my day and it’s much easier. My vacuum isn’t used to every day use so it broke down on me. Gotta go grab a new one today.

Now I want to start decorating. I want to decorate my porch for each holiday. I want to make my home look nice and comfortable for visitors. So…wish me luck. Maybe…just maybe…I will have pictures soon. I am going to take a decorating course. AAAHHHHH… I’ve always wanted to take one, but I never did because I wasn’t sure I could do it.

That’s a whole other blog post, though. I’ve never really done anything that I could or thought I might fail at. I’ve always been a success at everything because I’ve never stepped out of my comfort zone into an area where I could fail.

So…decorating my new home is an area where I could fail. I know NOTHING about it. We shall see how this turns out. I’ll keep you posted. Feel free to leave any decorating suggestions in the comments.

I’ve always wanted a house on the lake. It’s been my dream since I was a little girl. Due to circumstances in our lives lately, we have been led back to NY (where I swore I would never live again). But…one good thing about it we ended up living in a small house right on the bay!! We’re a 1/4 mile from the beach at the lake.

The days here are beautiful. Sunsets are breathtaking!!  The picture to the left is of one of the first sunsets I witnessed here.  It was so calming that I forgot to take more pics. 

Working from home allows me the flexibility to live wherever I want and work when I want, not when someone says I have to. I am so looking forward to warmer weather. We’re going to put a dock in down at the bay and we’ll be able to sit out there and relax or fish or have coffee in the morning. I love it here!!  This is a nice little town.  It’s going to be overrun with people soon for the summer season.  I can’t wait to meet new people!!  The perfect way to start over…
