I’ve Been Watching You

I spent a few hours today with one of my Elite Coaching Clients.  During these sessions, I generally hook to my client’s computer and walk her through exactly where to go, what to day and what to do on social spaces.  We also look at what others are doing and find examples of what is NOT working.

Today we found quite a few of you on facebook.  We looked at your status updates and looked at the interaction you are getting.

I was shocked at how many of you are STILL spinning your wheels and trying to work on facebook.  You are posting  quotes and business pitches and cutesy photos.  But…the only ones who are “liking” and commenting on your status updates are others who are in your business.  You have no prospects interacting with you.  You have no “real” people interacting with you.

While it’s nice to keep in touch with those in your business and it’s nice that they like your stuff, that does NOT make you any money!!  That means you are just existing on facebook, but it’s doing you absolutely NO GOOD.

Why?  Why are you still spinning your wheels when everything you’ve done up to this point has been unsuccessful?  Why are you wasting your time?

Really? The Economy Really Sucks, Huh?

Two words – NAKED THERAPY – Yup…that’s what I said.

There are so many people without jobs and claiming they “just can’t make money in today’s economy”.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again.  It’s all about finding something people will pay for.

I turned on the Jeff Probst Show this morning and he had a “Naked Therapist” on the show.  Naked therapy?  I was appalled but had to see what this was all about because this woman is saying her business is BOOMING.

She is claiming that she helps men through their “issues” by getting naked on a webcam when she talks to them.  However, she let the show tape the beginning of one of her sessions.      When the “session” started, the guy had real issues he wanted to talk about.  She took off her clothes and all of a sudden he says he has no issues.  He is all of a sudden a “Happy Camper”.  And she honestly thinks she is helping him.

I’m not here to address the morality of this “therapist”.  I am here to tell you that if you think outside the box and roll with today’s trends, you CAN make money.

People do not pay for things they NEED, they pay for things they WANT. 

There is not one of us who NEEDS a huge TV that takes up half of a wall.  That is something that sells.

There is not one of us who NEEDS the latest gaming equipment.  That is something that sells.

What does this mean for your business?  STOP thinking of marketing to people who you think NEED your product or service and market to people who WANT your product or service.
