Finding a Home Tutor

I’ve talked to quite a few of my friends and acquaintances recently who are having problems with their children and the schools they are attending.  It’s totally shocking to me the number of high school graduates who can’t even read or write.

So…I decided to look around a little bit and see what’s available for these people.  As you may know, I homeschooled my children, however, that’s not an option for many parents.  Some either feel that they aren’t qualified (that’s a myth) or they just don’t have the time to homeschool.  For these parents, they need other options.

While browsing online, I found a site that has home tutors from all over the US.  You will find that not all states are listed on that page, so you might have to put your zip code in on the map page.   I quickly found two tutors within 20 miles of my rural, country home.  That was surprising, as most times, there is nothing available in my area.

If you are in need of a tutor to help your child do better in school, take a look and see if you can find a tutor that will be suitable for your child.

Use Your Uniqueness to Build Your Business

Everyone has SOMETHING about them that is unique.  Think about your life and relationships.  What is special about you that made your spouse/partner/friends want to be with you?  Can you expand on that?  Maybe you’ve been told that you have a beautiful smile or that you are funny or that you have a knack for making people feel comfortable around you.  List a few nice things that people have said about you in the past.

Go ahead…I’ll wait here…

OK, now that you’ve done that, is there a way you can use those good qualities in your business?  If you have been told you are funny, maybe you can go on facebook or twitter and make some funny (NOT OFF COLOR) comments on other’s status.  Or you could post some of your own jokes.

If you’ve been told you have a great smile, have someone take some smiling pics of you and post them on facebook, twitter, etc…  People love to do business with smiling, approachable people.

So, what is a uniqueness about you that you can build on?
