Really? The Economy Really Sucks, Huh?

Two words – NAKED THERAPY – Yup…that’s what I said.

There are so many people without jobs and claiming they “just can’t make money in today’s economy”.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again.  It’s all about finding something people will pay for.

I turned on the Jeff Probst Show this morning and he had a “Naked Therapist” on the show.  Naked therapy?  I was appalled but had to see what this was all about because this woman is saying her business is BOOMING.

She is claiming that she helps men through their “issues” by getting naked on a webcam when she talks to them.  However, she let the show tape the beginning of one of her sessions.      When the “session” started, the guy had real issues he wanted to talk about.  She took off her clothes and all of a sudden he says he has no issues.  He is all of a sudden a “Happy Camper”.  And she honestly thinks she is helping him.

I’m not here to address the morality of this “therapist”.  I am here to tell you that if you think outside the box and roll with today’s trends, you CAN make money.

People do not pay for things they NEED, they pay for things they WANT.

There is not one of us who NEEDS a huge TV that takes up half of a wall.  That is something that sells.

There is not one of us who NEEDS the latest gaming equipment.  That is something that sells.

What does this mean for your business?  STOP thinking of marketing to people who you think NEED your product or service and market to people who WANT your product or service.

Was 2012 Your Best Year Yet?

WOW…what a year this has been.  It seems every year in my life just gets better and better.  I am excited to be starting a new year on Tuesday.  Are you?

I hear people complaining about the economy all the time.  What they don’t realize is that the economy is not what’s bad.  It’s the nature of the jobs today.  We are moving more toward an electronic age.  Everything is online.  There are more home based millionaires today than there were total millionaires about ten years ago. But…how can that be with such a horrible economy?  It’s all a lie!!

The people willing to put out the time, effort and money to learn how to work WITH this changing world.  More people are shopping online than ever before.  More people are working online than ever before.

Where are you at the end of 2012?  Was it a better or worse year than 2011?  You can’t continue to do what you’ve always done and claim that life and the economy are getting worse.  The economy is great for people who are willing to work WITH the changes that come along instead of doing the same things that no longer work.

Stop Making Excuses and Get to Work

The Economy Sucks!!

Honestly I’m so sick and tired of having people blame the economy for their lack of effort in building their business.

Seriously…NASCAR racing season is going to be ending soon.  Have you seen the people in the stands this year?  Every time I watch a race, the stands are full of people and there are all kinds of RVs parked there for the weekend.  Do you have any idea what people pay for tickets to these races?  The AVERAGE cost of a nascar ticket is $88.  Even if the stands aren’t completely full, there are a LOT of people spending $88 each to attend a race.

Football season is starting.  The average cost of a ticket to a football game is $75.  Next time you are watching a game, look at the stands and see all of the people spending $75 each to attend that game.

So many people eat out these days.  I am actually amazed at the number of women who don’t cook.  Depending on where you live, you are spending an average of $50 or more for dinner for a family of four.  EVERY DAY!!

The average family spends $75 a month on cable television.  How does cable television help you make money?

The average network marketer spends $500 to get started, $100/month on products and $2,000 or more on training (where the majority of them learn ineffective marketing methods).  The average network marketer does not even make enough money to pay for their products.

What can we learn from all of these statistics?

People spend money on things they WANT.  They spend money on things they perceive will make their lives easier or better.

So…in the words of Tom “Big Al” Schreiter…”If building your business was a crime, would there be enough evidence to convict you?”

Plan B…Do You Have One?

First of all, what is a “Plan B”?

A Plan B is something you put in place just in case what you are doing does not work out.  It’s kind of like insurance.  You pay your insurance policy every month on your home or vehicle and, if you’re like most people, you never use it.

There are so many people who have been totally blindsided by job loss in today’s economy.  If that happened to you, would you be OK?  What if you or your spouse got hurt and couldn’t work?  Would you be OK?

What if I could show you how to have a “Plan B” so if anything ever happened to your current income, you would be OK?

The time to start bringing in some extra income “just in case” is NOW.

I’ve found a great way to turn an everyday expense into an income.

If I could show you a way to make a few hundred extra dollars per month and it would not interfere with what you are doing now, would you like to hear about it?   If so, fill out the form below.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. What will you do with it?

What is Holding You Back?

I got asked a question the other day and wanted to answer it here on my blog.  Thank you CJ for the question and permission to answer it here in a blog post.

I am trying to build a home based business but seem to be getting nowhere.  No matter what I do, I can’t seem to get ahead.  Everyone says the economy is too bad and no one is spending money right now.  Do you think that’s what the problem is?  If so, what can I do about it?

CJ, In order to help you, I need a little more information.  I don’t think the economy is THAT bad.  People are spending money on things they WANT.  There are a lot of businesses thriving right now.  Please answer the following questions for me.

1.  What steps are you taking on a daily basis to build your business?

2.  How many hours per day do you spend on your business?

3.  Is this business your only source of income or do you have a J.O.B. as well?

4.  What is your goal with your business?  Specifically, how much money do you want to be making a year from now and what do you have to do to achieve that?

1.  I am online most of the day talking to people.

2.  I spend 5 to 6 hours per day while my kids are in school on my business.

3.  I do not have a J.O.B.   My husband works and I am a stay at home mom to 2 school age children.  I am hoping to bring extra income into the house so we can give our children a better life.

4.  In a year I would like to be making $10,ooo per month.  In order to do that, between everyone I talk to and everyone they talk to and so on, I need to help 400 people become regular users of my products.

What steps EXACTLY are you taking during that 5 to 6 hours online per day?  I see that your facebook wall has a lot of Farmville and Frontierville posts.  It is very easy for us to fool ourselves into thinking we are being productive when we are really doing a lot of non-productive things.

You have the perfect situation.  You have time while the kids are in school to be working on a business.  You say that you talk to people online.  I’m curious how you are doing that.  I took a look at your public profiles on a couple social spaces and see no reference to the fact that you work from home.  Let’s start with that.  Public online profiles should always reflect the fact that you are working your own business.

In order for you to build this group of 400 people, you probably need to personally bring in at least 50 people over the next year.  Some will just be users of the products and some will want to do this as a business.  That means you need to find about 4 people per month to become regular users of your products.  In order for you to find these 4 people per month, you will probably need to actually present your products and business to around 20 people per month.  That’s less than one person per day.  If you make a goal of presenting your products and/or business to just ONE person per day, Monday through Friday, that’s 20 people per month.

I recommend spending 2 hours of FOCUSED time each day doing activities that will cause people to ask you about your business.  I taught a class recently that shows you exactly how to market online and cause people to come to you and ask “What do you do?”.  This is when you show them your business.  Check out the deeply discounted investment on my Social Networking Group Coaching Program.  This will help you to use the social spaces to actually market your business instead of playing games wondering what you should be doing.

Now…what is holding YOU back?

I’m not going to go any further into the email correspondence with CJ.  I think you get the picture.  Many of us waste a lot of time each day.  We sit and wonder what to do and end up doing things like playing games or watching videos or just surfing the net.  Why not invest a few hours into learning the PROPER way to talk to people online so you can use your time more effectively?

Today is the first day of the rest of your life.  What will you do with it?
