It’s after midnight. I was ready to go to bed early tonight because I’m exhausted, but I had to come and write for a few minutes.

On my other blog I told you about how I manifested a porch.

Every night before I go to bed, I sit on the porch for a while and relax. Tonight something hit me. My husband and I have been looking for a new place because a house was built right next to ours and a family with 6 kids moved in. We have nothing against them, however, we are country people. We are used to living in the middle of nowhere and not used to neighbors so close. So we wanted to find a new place.

Before we moved here, I had a “perfect moment”. This is somewhere that I would go in my mind when things got tough to help me get through those times. My perfect moment was sitting on my front porch with the rain coming straight down and thunder & lightening off in the distance. A light gentle breeze is blowing. I went to this perfect moment often.

About a week after we moved in, I was sitting on the porch and I LIVED MY PERFECT MOMENT!! It was AMAZING.

In the year that we’ve lived here, I lost sight of that.

Tonight as I sat on my porch, all I could think was that I am so thankful for cool KY evenings. I am so thankful that I can sit on my porch at night and enjoy the cool breeze and the peace and quiet. I am thankful that I have a front porch to sit on.

Gratitude. It’s all about gratitude. We have to be grateful for the things we have before we will be entrusted with more.

Now I’m grateful for a nice cool bed to climb into and go to sleep.

What are you grateful for today?
